Paul Veres

Paul Veres entered the world of font design through calligraphy and graphic design, which he had both practiced and taught. It is for this reason that he continued to use the name Calligraphics for his foundry. Without formal training in type, he learned through much trial and error, resulting in his first font, Aperto. There are now 5 additional fonts available through MyFonts.com of formal and informal styles. He lives in Berkeley, California, where his day job is teaching art in a suburban high school.

Linotype Aperto is a typical text font in the style of transitional faces, like its often-used cousin Times. It is available in roman, semibold and bold weights, each with its matching italic. The roman weight is complete with old style figures and small caps. Its balanced, reserved appearance makes Aperto extremely flexible, good for long texts as well as headlines.

Caterina, was selected personally by Francis Ford Coppola for the film he produced called The Legend of Suriyothai.

It’s not the credits, but text placed in the center of the screen to introduce information about the setting, the characters, and so on. Something like chapter headings in a book, or the text in silent movies.
