Born: Martinsville, Ohio, 1880
Died: Hingham, Massachusetts, 1956

Leading American book designer of the first half of the 20th century, closely associated with C.H. Griffith, and leading designer for the Mergenthaler Linotype Company from 1929 until after World War II.
