Francis Meynell of United Kingdom

Died: Lavenham, Suffolk, 1975
English book designer. Meynell’s use of the Monotype at his own Nonesuch Press (founded 1923) proved that fine printing could be achieved with mechanically-composed text. He was knighted in 1946.
