Merle Scholtz specializes in designing African and Indian ethnic patterns and logos. Her work with ethnic patterns began as a result of her fascination with, and collection of, ethnic African masks and beadwork.

Based in Durban, South Africa, surrounded by a multitude of cultures, (particularly Zulu and Indian), she has made use of the rich tapestry of “African and Indian” designs to enhance the work produced by the design company run by Anton Scholtz and herself.
