Michael Twyman of United KingdomBorn: London, 1934 British typographic historian and founder, in 1968, of the renowned Reading University course, ‘Typography & Graphic Communication’. For its lecturers, the course attracts notable personalities from the typographic scene, including Michael Harvey, James Mosley, Gerard Unger, and Gerry Leonidas. Every year, students are treated to a tour of the stone inscriptions in Rome and Tuscany. His department hosted the 1997 ATypI Conference.
