Downloading and Unpacking Fonts for the Macintosh
Back

After you buy your fonts, a Web page displays verifying that your order is completed. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Download link to download a font package. Note that you must download each font package separately.

Here are common questions and their solutions:

Problem

What do I do with the file I downloaded?

Solution

We send all font files in a compressed file format for faster and more secure downloading. Once you have downloaded the font files, you need to unpack them and then install them. Please see the unpacking instructions below.

Unpacking Macintosh Fonts

Files for the Macintosh are compressed in a format called "binhex". Usually, your Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers should unpack these files after downloading them. By default, these files appear on the Desktop. However, if you have problems unpacking them, you can download StuffIt Expander for the Macintosh from Aladdin Systems.

Once you have installed the software, you can extract the files by dragging and dropping the HQX or SIT file onto the StuffIt Expander application. After you have unpacked the files, follow the directions to install the fonts onto your system.
