Franz Kafka’s manuscripts have always been a source of inspiration for designer Julia Sysmäläinen. At first she was just interested in literary aspects but later she noticed that content and visual form can not be separated in the work of this ingenious writer. Analyzing Kafka’s handwriting at the Berlin National Library, Julia was inspired to design the typeface FF Mister – by now a well known classic.
Graphic designers always search for new geometric sans faces appropriate for our times. ITF is pleased to present them with Volte. Including the five most essential font weights (Light–Bold), Volte Latin differentiates itself from the geometric sans pack through its simplification and reduction. For a geometric sans, Volte’s letters are very open. Some letters appear constructed, but they all retain the necessary geometric and monolinear spirt. Volte’s openness increases its legibility, too. Coupled with its clear style, this helps make Volte Latin an effective workhorse typeface.
Libertad is a sans-serif typeface that mixes humanist and grotesk models – It’s most interesting feature is the combination of balanced regulars with dinamic italics, wich makes it a very versatile font for diferent uses.
This special package is a special adaptation of Libertad, intended for Microsoft Office use with 4 variants.
A classic Art Deco period style inspired by Samuel Welo, circa 1930. Letters are widely spaced to allow the subtle beauty of the letters to shine. Includes over 30 bonus alternates and two sets of small caps which are designed to be used at the cap height rather than sit on the baseline.
Sinkin Sans Narrow is a simple, pleasantly proportioned and easy to read sans-serif, available in all 9 standard web weights, 100 to 900, plus italics, so the face is a comprehensive illustration of the CSS web font numerical scale.
RNS Ahumada comprises 3 versions, Regular, Slanted and Ornaments, and was drawn pattienly with the handmade blackboards from the supermarkets in mind. A mix between readable and a warm human touch, that definitely makes it a friendly and sweet shape. The main features and advantage of having a varied set of widths, makes it a source that can be mixed to achieve a greater variety in composition. We recommend the use of color, it gives a strong personality and makes more attractive.
Marcel is an angular upright script typeface inspired by the natural shapes obtained when drawing a letter in marker pen or brush. It is inspired by the work of French type designer Marcel Jacno. This unique design later inspired many other typeface designers like Roger Excoffon with his ‘Banco’. I recommend to use it for any packaging design related to quality and hand-made products, advertising, web, posters, magazines and book jackets. Marcel is loaded with an extended character set, supporting Central, Western and Eastern European languages and plenty of cool OpenType features like brush underlines in different styles for each word length. Please have a look through the image gallery above to know more about Marcel!
The very first sketches of Muller were made about four years ago.
In the process they changed to the point where they had nothing in common with the original idea. As it is with most work we do, when we seek perfection, changes are inevitable.
Stabile is a rather stylish casual font with loads of good vibes and alternates: there are four glyphs for each letter, two for each numeral plus swashes to this side and the other. Two for each side, in fact. It’s a flexible font that looks unique and quite distinctive, with its charming uneven look that gets even more uneven when Contextual Alternates are turned on.
Stabile family brings a delish accompanying font, Stabile Toys, packed with organic shapes inspired by the breathtaking work of the american artist Alexander Calder.
These play together deliciously well, you can bet. Are you prepared to balance them? Enough reading, then, just go ahead!
In the late 90’s, there were many German cars coming into Malmö (where I lived at the time). I was blown away by the font on the license plates. So strange, so strong, peculiar – but still macho. I built the uppercase from my own photos. After this I completed the font with my own lowercase, small caps and punctuation.
A very friendly-looking sans, Quantum Latin is Hitesh Malaviya’s first published typeface for the Latin-script. Its five styles are very, very wide, but the letterforms do not look too technical. Stroke endings are vertical, like in a humanist sans. Don’t overlook the tails on ‘K,’ ‘Q,’ ‘R,’ and ‘k!’
Velodroma is new display sans serif, probably one of the widest typefaces ever made. But the widest is not the only thing you get. You get regular and wide too and in one font, so you can combine them together. And if you do not want to do it by yourself the typeface will do it for you through stylistic sets. Be aware that this works only in Indesign by this time, but all the characters are available through wide and superwide styles in other apps too. There are also stylistc sets which will do pseudorandom spaces in between your letters so you can go really crazy with all the stylistic sets combined together.
Inspired by old nature field notebooks, Natura was born out of the passion for new modern hand-calligraphy, designed first with a flexible fountain pen and then digitalized glyph by glyph to get the natural feeling of the dry ink on smooth paper.
