It is documented by around 280 texts dated from the 5th up until the 1st century BC, which were found through northern Italy, southern Germany, eastern Switzerland, \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Slovenia\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eSlovenia\u003c\/a\u003e and western Austria, in two variants of the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Old_Italic_scripts\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eOld Italic scripts\u003c\/a\u003e.
