Über die Familie

Knot your typical handwritten script!

Shoelaces are very much like handwriting. They’re never the same—as they intertwine freely in each and every step. Gabetes mimics this behavior by contextually tying letters depending on the order in which they appear. Furthermore, this intricately designed typeface even switches to a print version at all-caps casing, increasing legibility. This feature diversifies composition possibilities on its own and is taken a step further by the loopy alternate for each capital letter. Gabetes captures the tactile quality of shoelaces and brings it forth as a fun-to-use typeface ideal for projects in need of a free-spirited communicator and visually dynamic typesetting.

Note: Don't forget to check the HOW TO USE slide!
Tip: Keep your contextual alternates ON in your Open Type panel

Über Pedroglifos

Pedroglifos is a Caribbean based, small independent designer-owned foundry by illustrator, animator & designer, Pedro Medina Leandry. This project is a space to build a legacy through type design, while aspiring to fill the gap in the lack of Caribbean representation in the industry. With a strong sense of usability, our fonts are meant to help designers and content creators alike craft expressive and unique communications and branding through type. Pedro's 15 year as a brand designer, has a taste for type that is both readable and imbued with personality. It is what gives our fonts their unique style & character.
