{"title":"Sanskrit Text","description":"\"Sanskrit Text is designed for typesetting the classical Sanskrit language in the Devanagari script. Its style is influenced by traditional calligraphy, with medium contrast between thick and thin strokes, and its forms are conventional and easily readable. It can be used for both body text and headlines. It is highly recommended for printed documents, and it is an appropriate typeface for literary, scientific, and religious Sanskrit texts.\n\nSanskrit Text is based on Monotype Devanagari, a metal typeface published by Monotype in the 1930s. Type designers John Hudson and Fiona Ross thoroughly revised the original design to create this computer typeface, making the letter shapes more stylistically and proportionally consistent. Anshuman Pandey advised on the glyph set, which includes support for more than 680 consonant conjuncts (combined forms of letters) that appear in Sanskrit texts. The font includes capitals and lowercase letters for the Latin alphabet, based on Monotype Bembo, revised to harmonize with the Devanagari. They include diacritical marks necessary for transliterating Sanskrit and other Indian languages.\"","products":[],"url":"https:\/\/www.myfonts.com\/de\/collections\/sanskrit-text-font-microsoft.oembed","provider":"MyFonts","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
