It continued under \u003ca href=\"\/es\/person\/caslon-ii\/william\"\u003eWilliam Caslon II\u003c\/a\u003e. On his death in 1778 the property was split between his wife and his son, \u003ca href=\"\/es\/person\/caslon-iii\/william\"\u003eWilliam Caslon III\u003c\/a\u003e. In 1792 the son sold his share to his mother and his sister-in-law to buy the foundry of their rival, \u003ca href=\"\/es\/person\/jackson\/joseph\"\u003eJoseph Jackson\u003c\/a\u003e, who had just died.
