About this font family
The attractive tapering form of the architectural ruins of Pompeii were Victor De Castro’s inspiration for the letterforms of Pompeia Inline.
The entire family is a cross between a serif and sans serif type, neither gothic or geometric, but humanistic in spirit. The “round” letters have a lemon shape with the ascenders and descenders thick on top and bottom, tapered in the middle.
This inline version, released by Adobe in 1997, is very legible as a display font, as well as adding decorative interest to flyers, brochures, newsletters, and package designs.
