Estudio CH

This is the personal foundry of Cristóbal Henestrosa, a type designer living in Mexico City. He has developed type families for clients such as the Fondo de Cultura Económica, Librerías Gandhi, Mexico’s federal government, and El Colegio de México. Some of his families have been honored by the Type Directors Club and selected several times by Tipos Latinos, the Latin American Typography Biennial. He is the author of Espinosa. Rescate de una tipografía novohispana (Mexico City, Designio, 2005), and co-author of Cómo crear tipografías. Del boceto a la pantalla [How to create typefaces. From sketch to screen] (Madrid, Tipo E, 2012), which has been translated into English, Polish, Portuguese, and Mandarin. He has been a professor of typography and type design at the National Autonomous University of Mexico’s Faculty of Arts and Design since 2011.
