MAKYN

MAKYN is multilingual type foundry, that focuses on designing Bi-Scriptual high quality typefaces that revive the traditions of calligraphy in a modernized manner. MAKYN is named after an Arabic word meaning persistence and an element of significant rank; those meanings are to be translated in all the foundry's designs. The foundry aims to create high quality Arabic Typefaces with a Latin companion that endure the needs of the international market. MAKYN is founded and run by Kholoud Khaled Essawy in 2021. It is based in Cairo, Egypt.
