Nonpareille

Nonpareille is the foundry of Matthieu Cortat, Swiss type designer living in Lyon, France. Nonpareille is also the old name given in the early decades (or centuries) of typography, to the smallest characters founders were able to make (about 5 point). These types were "without similar" ("Non pareille", in old French), because of the precision of their shapes, the beauty of their drawings, and their good level of legibility in spite of their small size. The contemporary Nonpareille type foundry has exactly the same aims.
