The Greek historian \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Arrian\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eArrian\u003c\/a\u003e in his \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anabasis_Alexandri\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eAnabasis Alexandri\u003c\/a\u003e (mid-2nd century CE) mentions the existence of a peculiar indigenous language in the city of Side. Sidetic was probably closely related to \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lydian_language\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eLydian\u003c\/a\u003e, \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carian_language\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eCarian\u003c\/a\u003e and \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lycian_language\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eLycian\u003c\/a\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe \u003cstrong\u003eSidetic script\u003c\/strong\u003e is an alphabet of the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alphabets_of_Asia_Minor\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eAnatolian group\u003c\/a\u003e. It has about 25 letters, only a few of which are clearly derived from Greek.
