David Buck

David Buck lives and works in Wellington, New Zealand. He founded SparkyType in 1997 distributing his own free fonts. David joined the Chank Company in 2000, designing and digitising faces for clients such as 2Grrls, American Express, Belkin, Bop Magazine, and WordStretch. He has also collaborated with Michael Cina, Craig Duffney,and Joseph Churchward before going into business for himself in 2003. SparkyType now offers several commercial fonts.

David’s alphabets have also graced the consumer market on Kraft boxes, Target shelves, Best Buy gift cards, and on the backs of kids wearing Billabong, Xlarge and MTV clothing. David now works on a variety of freelance projects specialising in not only font design, but also graphic design and font customisation.
