Dirk Wachowiak

Dirk Wachowiak is a graphic designer and type designer based in Stuttgart, Germany.

Dirk studied graphic design at the School of Design of Pforzheim University (Germany). After his graduation he was employed at this school for two years as an academic assistant, and also worked at a design studio in Stuttgart.

In 2003 he was awarded a DAAD grant to persue his Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at Yale University School of Art. During his study at Yale he was employed as teaching assistant for the class of Tobias Frere-Jones in type design. He graduated with honors in 2005.

In 2005 he taught type design at the State Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart and in 2008 typography at the School of Design of Pforzheim University.
