Samuel Nelson Dickinson

Founded the Dickinson Type Foundry in Boston in 1839. He made his skilled punchcutter, Alexander Phemister, a partner in the business in 1872 after the foundry was ravaged by fire. The foundry became part of ATF in 1891.
