About this font family
Based on a fifteenth century Textura Blackletter typeface, Octoberfest has an historically accurate companion with Lombardic style capitals, Octoberfest Alternate. Both feature a Germanic cross icon as the asterisk character. The OpenType versions of Octoberfest and Lombardic Octoberfest Alternate have 26 ligature features that automatically substitute a subtly unique pair of distressed characters when any lower case character is keyed twice in a row. The Pro versions of Octoberfest and Octoberfest Alternate extend the character set to support Eastern European and Baltic languages.
