Rhodaelian avoids the uniform styling of most typefaces in its class in which similar or recurring elements—if not the complete typeface—are given a uniform structure and finish. Far from arbitrary, Rhodaelian’s multifaceted design is systematic; soft letters like ‘o’, ‘e’, ‘h’ are given smooth corners, while ‘hard’ letters, eg: ‘q’, ‘p’, ‘n’, are sharp-cornered and squarer in form. In this way, the mechanics of spoken language are emulated graphically, resulting in a literal analog of speech.
