Caldstone is a display sans-serif typeface with roots in the expressive lettering of the 1910s, filtered through the ornate revivalism of the 1960s. Decorative curls and spurs—more often seen in serif faces—give it a distinctive character, while clean proportions and careful spacing make it comfortable in modern layouts. It’s not a revival of a single antique typeface; it’s a reimagining that blends early 20th-century charm with 21st-century versatility.

The design draws on the Edwardian styles that resurfaced in the late-1960s counterculture alongside ragtime nostalgia, kaleidoscopic art, and ornate typography—a deliberate reaction against mid-century modernist restraint. Caldstone carries that same warmth and exuberance forward, offering designers an alternative to the cool detachment of today’s minimalist sans-serifs.

With 66 styles across three widths (Condensed, Normal, and Expanded) and a weight range from Hairline to Black, Caldstone is equipped for both subtle refinement and high-impact statements. Matching italics add further range, making it at home in editorial design, branding, packaging, and display typography.
