Dialup is what happens when late ’60s psychedelic posters collide with early computer-themed display types and refuse to let go. Its roots run through Bob Newman’s Zipper and Philip Kelly’s Data ’70, but the rigid bitmap grid gets bent, softened, and coaxed into shapes that feel alive. Rounded edges and superelliptical curves take the chill off its digital origins, giving each letter the warmth of hand-inked type while keeping that blocky, retro-tech punch.

It’s a typeface for when you want your words to hum with analog warmth but still buzz with electronic energy. Think groovy festival posters, alt-comics, boutique packaging, zines, retro-futurist album art, game splash screens, or offbeat café signage. Dialup slips easily between decades—equal parts cosmic daydream and green-phosphor monitor glow.

Loaded with broad language support and a character set that encourages playful experimentation, it’s a psychedelic circuit you can wire into today’s designs. If your project calls for something that’s both familiar and wonderfully strange, plug in to Dialup and let the transmission flow.
