Irwansyah Irwansyah

My name is Irwansyah, a font designer from Indonesia with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. The worlds of engineering and design may seem different but for me they are inextricably linked both demanding precision, balance, and beauty in structure. My experience in designing building structures has provided me with a systematic and precise mindset which I then apply to the process of creating letterforms and typographic compositions. As someone accustomed to designing building structures, I view each design element as part of an interconnected system that must work harmoniously. This approach shapes my perspective on typography. For me, each letter has a construction and proportions that must be balanced to convey a message powerfully and clearly. From this principle, I began to develop a style of letter design that combines technical precision with an artistic touch. My interest in typography began in my early days, when I was frequently involved in creating lettering designs for covers, banners, and various other graphic projects. From these experiences, I began to realize that letters are not just a means of communication but also a form of visual expression that can evoke emotion and strengthen a work's identity. The more I delved into typography, the more I found satisfaction in designing letters that have their own character and story. Now, through my work as a font designer, I strive to create typography that is not only aesthetic but also functional and relevant to today's design needs. Every font I create is designed to blend seamlessly with various visual contexts from logos and branding to other creative publication designs. For me, letter design is a process of combining logic and emotion, structure and art. In every curve of a letter, there is a balance between technical precision and freedom of expression. Through my work, I want to demonstrate that typography is more than just writing, but a vibrant and meaningful work of visual architecture.
