I'm a designer and technologist working at the intersection of systematic design and digital culture. Currently based in the United States as an international student studying cybersecurity and networking, I approach typography through the lens of architecture and systems thinking - viewing letterforms as modular structures built on logical frameworks. My design philosophy centers on constraint-based creativity. I believe limitations don't restrict design - they refine it. By working within strict geometric grids and modular systems, I create typefaces that are both disciplined and expressive. This approach mirrors my technical background, where elegant solutions emerge from understanding underlying structures. OpenGrid represents this philosophy in action. Born from experiments with negative space and rectangular modules, it explores how minimal geometric components can generate visually striking letterforms. The project started as sketches on graph paper during networking lectures, evolving into a full typeface family that balances Bauhaus-inspired rigor with contemporary digital aesthetics. Beyond type design, I run YRYB, a streetwear brand where I apply similar principles to visual identity and graphic design. This cross-disciplinary practice keeps my work grounded in real-world applications - every typeface I design needs to perform not just in specimen sheets, but on actual products, screens, and brand systems. I'm drawn to projects that challenge conventional approaches to letterform construction, particularly those that embrace systematic thinking while leaving room for visual personality. My work aims to serve designers who appreciate typography that's both functionally solid and conceptually interesting.
