Say hello to King Basil: nearly 500 glyphs, including A-Z, a-z, 0-9, tons of punctuation, 24 ligature sets, over 200 extended Latin characters for language support, entry swash alternates for all uppercase and lowercase letters, exit swash alternates for all lowercase characters ... this sucker has a ton of features!

This was the first font I loved enough to list it for sale; to celebrate King Basil's 9th birthday, I've updated this old friend for 2025! There are a number of new alternate letters, many of which were pulled from the original pen-on-paper pages, plus some new ligatures and swashes, and a lot of freshening up and updating of all characters!

King Basil now includes all the basics (A-Z, a-z, numbers, and tons of punctuation); plus entry swash alternates for uppercase and lowercase and exit swash alternates for lowercase; 15 double-letter ligatures; 24 additional alternates for variety; over 200 extended Latin characters for language support; and a handful of swashes to make things extra decorative!

King Basil

Über Missy Meyer

Missy Meyer has decades of lettering and illustration under her belt; when looking to change careers in her 40s, graphic design seemed like the perfect way to go. She soon found her way into font design, and has been in love ever since. She specializes in quirky, casual, fun fonts that don't take themselves too seriously, but are still clean and easy to work with. (What did she do before design? It's been an amazing variety of jobs, including: bank teller, pizza chef, accountant, camp counselor, casino dealer, singing improv comedian, and game show host at Walt Disney World.)
