Über die Familie

Mufferaw blends the conversational ease of comic lettering with the clean authority of a display face. Where most comic fonts lose their shape when scaled up, Mufferaw’s sharp corners and flat stroke ends hold their ground, keeping every letter crisp and purposeful. Blow it up on a billboard, and it stays just as confident as it does in a dialogue bubble.

Its forms are friendly yet precise; the rhythm is brisk, with open counters that make reading effortless at any size. Those clipped terminals give it a technical edge, lending extra clarity and punch without sacrificing warmth.

Available in two weights, three widths, italics, and outline styles, Mufferaw adapts from quick-read captions to bold, attention-grabbing headlines. Use it for packaging that needs personality, event posters with an approachable tone, or branding that wants a handshake rather than a sales pitch. Mufferaw’s unique balance of casual and clean makes it one of the few comic-inspired typefaces that’s as comfortable in the gallery as it is in the zine rack.
