Nestor Pavildes

Nestor Pavlidès is a 21-year-old type designer currently completing a DSAA in Typographic Design at École Estienne in Paris, where he previously earned a DNMADE. Gesture sits at the heart of his practice, which is why he is building his professional skills across the crafts of the letter: stone carving, calligraphy and type design. Text typefaces move him most, because, as in music, it is the rhythm that holds everything together. Above all, Nestor loves working with others. Starting from a shared motif and drifting toward singular forms, the way musicians do in a jam session, is where he finds the most joy. For him, the creative atmosphere has to be festive.
