I came up with the name Sonnyfive back in 2017 — a blend of my name and my favorite number.
I was intentionally looking for something that felt like it was ripped straight from the 1980s. That era has always inspired me — the movies, the aesthetics, the music, the chaos.

That same year, I designed my very first typeface, which naturally became Sonnyfive Typeface. Since then, I’ve created three more fonts — the latest one being Phantom beauty, a project I’ve been dreaming about for a long time.
It was the most difficult to create — and the one I’m most proud of.

Sonnyfive isn’t just a font label.
It’s a space where I explore everything I love: horror-inspired visuals, cinematic graphics, lighting, shading, and storytelling through design.

Somewhere along the way, Netflix took notice — and I had the honor of designing a Stranger Things tarot card deck.

I run Sonnyfive solo. Outside of it, I’ve worked as a freelance designer for brands like Netflix, McDonald’s, RTL, WWF, SPAR, MOL, LIDL, ALDI, and many others.

Over the years, I’ve won at least 8 gold awards at both national and international advertising competitions for my creative campaigns and concepts.

The 1980s were full of urgency, fast decisions, and an uncertain view of the future.
That spirit shaped everything — films, fashion, music — and I like to believe it shaped my fonts, too.
There’s always a bit of chaos in the curves…
But with Phantom beauty, I finally let myself slow down — and craft something truly complete.
