Über die Familie

In the summer of 2010 Colophon Foundry was commissioned by Daniel Baer, of Studio Baer, to develop a typeface for fashion magazine Centrefold. The magazine’s editorial design and structure changes designer with each issue, so it was important to create a distinct typographic voice for the particular issue that Baer was designing and art directing.

This singular weight typeface became the catalyst for Transcript, later extended into an extensive type family with both Proportional and Monospaced variants.Transcript is available in five weights – UltraLight, Light, Regular, Medium, Bold — with corresponding Italics. It is available to license in both Standard (‘STD’) and Professional (‘PRO’) variants, the latter containing Cyrillic and Greek scripts and copious OpenType features and stylistic alternates.
