À propos de la famille

Babadook AOE presents a classic serif skeleton overtaken by a dramatic downward distortion, where the letterforms appear to dissolve into elongated drips and irregular extensions. Within the Institute’s darker archives it is cataloged as a specimen of “active degradation,” an alphabet whose structure appears to be melting away from itself. The underlying design retains a disciplined serif framework, but the terminals stretch and descend into fluid black forms that resemble dripping ink, viscous paint, or organic decay. The tension between the formal skeleton and the collapsing edges creates a striking horror aesthetic that feels both theatrical and unsettling. Unlike purely decorative drip fonts, Babadook AOE preserves readable proportions while allowing the distortions to grow organically from the strokes. This balance gives the alphabet a cinematic quality reminiscent of vintage horror posters, pulp paperbacks, and midnight movie titles. The typeface is particularly effective in horror-driven design. It performs strongly in film posters, Halloween graphics, horror branding, dark fantasy titles, gaming artwork, gothic merchandise, and any project that calls for dramatic, dripping letterforms with strong visual impact.

À propos Astigmatic

In 1873, the strange and fantastic story began. Nearly two centuries later, Brian J. Bonislawsky was born, and carrying on a mix of the the footsteps his ancestors before him took, he picked up the the traditions and founded the Astigmatic One Eye Foundry, which later expanded to become the Astigmatic One Eye Typographic Institute. (For more of the background story, see the Historical Perspective link below.) Since its founding Astigmatic has worked with dozens of designers, helping them forge their own foundries as well as helping to increase the quality of type created by Astigmatic and these other foundries. Astigmatic strives to continually increase its range of typographic scope; taking on expeditions to revive old typestyles, unearth long lost typefaces, forge new styles yet unseen, and begin to develop more comprehensive language typestyles of the WGL4 set size which includes Greek and Cyrillic extensions. If you are looking for a wide variety of typographic influence and style, the Astigmatic One Eye Institute is your source for type.
