À propos de la famille

Flavium is a faithful reconstruction of the typographic character used on the marble street name signs of Rome in the period from the late 1960s to the late 1990s. Over the centuries, the lettering of Roman street signage has undergone several changes, and this version reflects that specific historical phase.

It is an uppercase-only Roman font, whose letters are confined between the baseline and the caps line.

The strokes have an aspect ratio of about 1:10, with very little contrast, as is typical of lapidary inscriptions.

The style is severe yet elegant, evoking the authority and dignity of civic stone carving.

Flavium is available in three stylistic variants, faithfully mirroring the actual street signs: with regular serifs, with very pronounced serifs, or with serifs almost completely absent.
