A Guide to the World of Signs

Ghid is a typeface that shows the way—quite literally. In Romanian, ghid means guide, and this typeface lives up to its name perfectly. Its letterforms draw inspiration from public spaces—road signs, directional markers, and short yet crucial pieces of information that navigate us through everyday life.

Ghid is more than just a font—it’s a guide that takes you on a journey through Transylvania and the Carpathians, through cities and remote paths, through words and visuals. It is strong and precise, yet never overwhelming. Its design ensures that every message remains clear and highly legible—even from a great distance.

This is a typeface for those who seek new experiences while relying on solid preparation. Ghid is confidence in direction—both in words and in space.

Ghid is a sans-serif typeface built on strong, geometric shapes. Its carefully balanced proportions guarantee exceptional readability, even in visually dynamic environments. It contains 711 glyphs, covering Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic alphabets. It supports a wide range of languages and includes mathematical and currency symbols.

Available as a Variable Font, Ghid offers a broad weight range—from Hairline to Black, with 10 predefined weight instances in between. It comes in both regular and italic styles, with the italic being a truly dynamic interpretation inspired by handwritten forms, rather than just a mechanical slant. The regular style features double-story a and g, while in italic, these characters take on a single-story form.

The aperture is moderate, and letter endings feature subtle tapering. Ghid was designed for quick readability, whether viewed up close or from a distance.

Additionally, it supports OpenType features, ligatures, and subtle ink traps, making it a versatile choice for both informational signage and modern functional typography.
