Harlan Gunawan

Harlan Gunawan is a typography designer interested in the expressive and cultural possibilities of type. His practice moves between typeface design, graphic form, and visual research, often looking at how everyday objects, technologies, vernaculars, and historical traces can become sources for new letterforms. Through Obliques Foundry, he develops typefaces as both functional tools and cultural artifacts—forms that carry a sense of place, time, and human gesture.
