À propos de la famille

Developing a new sans serif clearly distinguishable from existing sans serifs is a difficult task. Günter Gerhard Lange accomplished that with Imago, introduced by Berthold in 1982. It is narrower in proportion than others, has a square-like shape to its curves and numerals that are slightly shorter than its cap height. Particular attention was given to the expression of each individual character and great care was taken to keep them open and clear even in the smallest of sizes and boldest of weights. Under the direction of Günter Gerhard Lange, bold and bold italic weights were added in 2000, making Imago an extremely well-balanced family with universal applicability. Imago is especially useful for office memorandum, and scanning and faxing documents.

À propos Berthold

The H. Berthold typefoundry, renowned for crafting high-quality typefaces, was founded in 1858 by Hermann Berthold in Berlin. By 1918 the foundry had become the largest in the world, with offices in Stuttgart, St. Petersburg, Leipzig, Riga, Budapest and Vienna. To complement its proprietary typesetting equipment business activities, Berthold developed high quality typefaces. The H. Berthold foundry’s most celebrated family of typefaces is arguably Akzidenz-Grotesk (released 1896), known as the mother of all sans serifs. The Premium foundry page can be viewed Here.
