Laliya is an independent type foundry and communication design studio based in Savarkundla, Amreli District, Gujarat, India. Founded by Sarfraj Laliya, the studio brings together a deep understanding of typography, branding, and visual communication developed through years of experience in the advertising industry. Sarfraj Laliya graduated from the Department of Applied Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, one of India's most respected institutions for art and design. Throughout his career, he has been recognized with numerous national and international awards, including a Silver Cannes Lion, as well as honors from D&AD, The One Show, and Goafest. With more than 13 years of experience as an Art Director, Sarfraj has worked with leading global advertising agencies such as Publicis, ITSA, and Ogilvy, collaborating on campaigns for major FMCG and consumer brands. His professional journey across advertising agencies and design studios has provided valuable insight into the practical needs of designers, brands, and creative professionals. At Laliya, typography is approached not only as a visual craft but also as a communication tool. The foundry focuses on creating distinctive, high-quality typefaces that balance creativity, functionality, and contemporary design requirements. Every typeface is developed with careful attention to usability, personality, and real-world application, making them suitable for branding, advertising, editorial design, packaging, and digital experiences.
