The inspiration source for Morningside Monogram is the 1934 Book of American Types by American Type Founders. One of their most popular monogram styles in that specimen book was called "Fifth Avenue Monogram Initials", which was only available in metal type at an array of sizes up to 54 points. This classic, super condensed, monogram initial style also came complete with mortised initial frames, both of which are now digitally recreated and revived for modern use. Morningside Monogram is capable of traditional one, two, and three letter format monograms, as well as a diagonal three smallcap letter format monogram. Download and view the Morningside Monogram Guidebook if you would like to learn a little more. There is a guidebook for both the Pro and Standard fonts included in the font package. Morningside Monogram comes complete with both Pro and Standard format fonts. For those with programs that can take advantage of OpenType features, the Pro fonts are for you, but for others without the ability to use OpenType features, we've created separate fonts that make up the traditional but not diagonal style contained in the Pro font.

Monogram Fonts Co. is a product of type designer, Brian J. Bonislawsky, known for his involvement in the Astigmatic One Eye Typographic Institute, the Breaking the Norm Font Library, VersusTwin Type Foundry, and Foundry-X. In looking ahead and planning his wedding to his optometrist fiancée, he realized that monogramming seemed an integral part in most wedding invitations as well as personal item branding. However, there seemed to be a distinct lack of monogram typefaces, outside of embroidery fonts. As a result, and with the desire to change that, a new font company is born with the hopes of becoming the Monogram Authority on the web!
