Faris Akna is an independent type designer and the founder of Akna Studio, based in Indonesia. His journey in design began through formal study and self-learning, which led him to explore the craft of typography and visual communication. He creates a variety of typefaces, including serif, sans serif, display, script, and variable fonts, with a focus on balance, character, and usability. Inspired by the details of letterforms, Faris enjoys exploring how typography can shape visual identities and bring ideas to life. Through Akna Studio, he continues to develop new typefaces while experimenting with the relationship between creativity, design, and technology. He believes that great typography is not only about creating beautiful forms, but also about designing fonts that are thoughtful, functional, and meaningful for creative work.
