Jeremy Bégel

Based in Lyon, Jérémy Bégel is an art director and graphic designer. In 2007, he founded the studio Making Things Public, through which he collaborates regularly with leading cultural and public institutions (École d'Art et Design de Grenoble, Institut d'art contemporain de Villeurbanne). From 2018 to 2020, he also worked with Bureau 205 on significant editorial and web design projects. Approaching the role of graphic designer as that of a translator and mediator, Jérémy Bégel's practice is rooted in a rigorous analysis of contexts and content. He conceives design as a tool for giving form to ambitions and values — translating complex concepts into singular, structured visual systems in which typography and editorial design occupy a central place. Alongside his studio practice, he shares his vision of the discipline as a lecturer to Bachelor and Master graphic design students at e-artsup Lyon. His work was acquired by the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich in 2017 and selected among the Best French Posters in 2019.
