Rahul Radhakrishnan

Based in Kerala, India, Rahul Radhakrishnan is a type and brand designer with 8 years of experience, specializing in Malayalam script. A graduate of SHSC Kochi, his work blends cultural depth with contemporary design, resulting in typefaces that are both expressive and highly functional.

Rahul began his journey in 2015 with the release of Karoor, a Malayalam-Latin text typeface containing over 1,000 characters, including Old Lipi forms. Designed for National Book Stall, Karoor marked a major milestone and laid the foundation for his professional path. He went on to create MP Paul, another Malayalam-Latin combo typeface, followed by Kochi Matters, his first fully Latin typeface. These were succeeded by multilingual fonts such as RIT Lekha, RT Chunk, and RT Graxor, showcasing his versatility and continuous exploration in type design.

With an experimental and culturally sensitive approach, Rahul has also customized typefaces for several companies, crafting letterforms tailored to brand needs and identity systems. He has worked on typographic titles for films, books, and posters, merging storytelling with visual expression.

Alongside his type design practice, Rahul is an experienced brand designer with a focus on logotypes. His branding work spans across multiple industries, where he has built successful identities rooted in clarity, form, and relevance.

He has conducted several workshops on typeface design and typography, nurturing a community of young designers and promoting awareness around regional scripts and their contemporary applications. His work has received recognition from platforms such as RIT and Typoday, reflecting both its cultural significance and professional excellence.

Rahul continues to develop retail and custom fonts that reflect a forward-thinking spirit while staying grounded in typographic heritage. Through type and brand design, his work contributes to shaping visual culture with clarity, emotion, and purpose.
