Restu Hadi
Restu Hadi is a type designer and typographer based in Bandung, Indonesia. Over the past five years, he has been developing his craft through Panakotype, a small independent studio focused on creating typefaces for brands, editorial work, and digital platforms.
His interest in type grew from a deep appreciation for editorial design and the role typography plays in shaping identity. For Restu, designing a typeface is similar to building a personal brand, every curve and detail carries meaning and communicates something before a single word is read.
His work spans a wide range of styles including serif, sans serif, display, decorative, and experimental typefaces. He specializes in font families built for branding and web use, often designed with extended glyph sets that include alternates, decorative ligatures, and stylistic variants. This approach gives users flexibility, using the display version for logotypes while the text family handles body copy and UI needs.
Each project at Panakotype starts with understanding what a design needs to say, and finding the letterforms that say it best.
