Simon Wivell

Simon Wivell is a designer working at the intersection of classical letterform structure and contemporary display type. Simon has an unusual background, combining a Ph.D. in Physics — and the appreciation for mathematical form and symmetry that comes with it — with success as a commercially successful fine artist. After spending several years studying historical printing types and calligraphic traditions, his independent type design work draws on a rare combination of technical precision, mathematical symmetry, an artistic eye, and an appreciation of historic tradition.
