À propos de la famille

Meriko is a sophisticated geometric sans made for branding and interface design—a clean, workhorse family available in nine weights and three widths. So much of today’s visual identity work relies on this genre. Here’s why Meriko stands apart, even while belonging to it. The typeface positions itself as a unique alternative for modern branding projects spanning technology, culture, and commerce—from digital products to print environments and spatial applications. Whether for a fresh tech start-up or an established financial institution, Meriko has the universal appeal to command authority and holds enough unique character to carry a memorable brand. The most prominent design feature in Meriko is the angled terminal of its stems. They appear in letters such as a, d, n, and m, lending the design a sharp accent. It’s a detail that introduces a subtle touch of brutalism while remaining refined enough to preserve the clean look of a geometric sans. A neat detail: in the italics, the angled terminal renders perfectly vertical. Another defining choice is the vertically cut finials in letters like a, c, e, f, and s. Beyond setting the typeface apart from the mass of geometric and grotesque fonts, it achieves a nicely compact and clean texture—especially on the bold side of the spectrum. The complete type family consists of three widths: the Standard, with its circular forms representing the most typical expression of the genre; the Semi Condensed, offering a space-efficient alternative; and the true Condensed, which optimizes space while maintaining the family’s clarity and character. In addition, Meriko includes a range of OpenType features, such as stylistic alternates for Q, a, and y; tabular lining figures, a slashed zero, and automatic fractions for numerical applications; case-sensitive forms; and ligatures. The family of 54 fonts also comes in two variable fonts, one for the uprights and one for the italics.
