Sobre a família

Ascética Rounded is a font family with a geometric sans serif style, developed by professor Fabio Ares and the Typography Chair of National University of La Plata, Argentina, especially in commemoration of 60 years of design careers at the Faculty of Arts. Ornaments: Octavio Osores, Gastón Lugano, Walter Chaves & María Laura Motta.

Its morphology is based on the formal proposals of Concrete Invention Art and the Ulm School, closely linked to the ideas that led to the creation and evolution of these careers.

The incorporation of ink traps suggests the idea of three-dimensionality and suggestively recall the impossible figures of Maurits Escher.

It currently has 8 variables, four of tone and four of inclination. It is also accompanied by a set of ornaments with a concrete air that can be used as an icon or grouped to compose borders and/or boxes. Among its forms you can find works by Max Bill and Tomás Maldonado, and other artists.
