Hello! Here is a story of this font. It began a start from medieval Poland. The Brest printing house was organized on the initiative and at the expense of the famous figure of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Prince Nikolai Radziwill.

In 1566 the Protestant theologian Tomas Falconius published a book of commentaries on the New Testament “Sprawy y słowa Jezusa Krystusa Syna Bożego” it means “The Matters and Words of Jesus Christ, the Son of God”. This book used Schwabacher as a main font.

Schwabacher is a specific style of blackletter typefaces which evolved from Gothic Textura under the influence of Humanist type design in Italy during the 15th century. Schwabacher typesetting was the most common typeface in Germany.

Similar to Rotunda, the rounded Schwabacher types were nearer to handwriting than the former Textua style, though it also includes sharp edges.

Polish Blackletter

Sobre Kaer

Hello! Most of all I like to design bright three-dimensional logos or characters and delve into each letter of a logo. I started to learn design in 2005 when I was a 3-rd year student and got fixed up in a job as a designer assistant in an advertising agency. I've been a freelancer since 2008. Initially, I was designing logos. Very often I used typical fonts with some changes to create a logo. That was the way I started creating full sets of fonts. Let's bring more color and bright letters to our world together!
