Sobre a família

Valmiki Devanagari is a monolinear handwriting typeface designed exclusively for the Devanagari script. Its letterforms are set at a slight angle, aiding its ability to mimic the quickly-written appearance everyday handwriting usually takes. Valmiki Devanagari ships in two different formats: users can install a single Variable Font or use the five static Lekhak Devanagari OpenType font files. The static fonts’ stroke weights range from Light through Bold, while the Variable Font permits even more differentiation in thickness. Valmiki Devanagari’s casual nature is visible throughout the character set’s design. Plenty of space is given to the typeface’s vowel marks, allowing them to be prominent in text. Loops and knots all have visible counters inside them. Several characters’ counters are indeed quite open. Valmiki Devanagari was designed in-house at ITF by Gunjan Panchal.

Sobre Indian Type Foundry

Founded in 2009, the Indian Type Foundry (ITF) designs and distributes fine-quality, multilingual fonts for both the Indian and global market. Its retail library offers fonts for text and display use, in visual styles ranging from traditional to experimental. ITF currently offers over 200 retail font families across 20 writing systems. ITF’s Kohinoor font family is on permanent display at London’s Design Museum as part of the “Designer Maker User” exhibition, which recognises this work as a historic milestone in the field of graphic design. If you're looking for a bespoke typeface or need assistance with extended licensing, please email [email protected].
