Sobre la familia

There Are Strange Beings in Our Everyday Lives.

The name Bunia Gunia comes from the Japanese onomatopoeic expressions “bunya bunya” and “gunya gunya,” which describe something soft, squishy, and amorphous.

Everything in the world has two opposing sides—a duality known as ambivalence.
Bunia Gunia was designed as a science-fiction-inspired typeface that portrays aliens and humans coexisting on Earth, with their opposing natures strangely blending and merging into one.

We may not notice any difference between humans and aliens, but every so often, we sense something unsettling in the midst of our ordinary lives.
Perhaps aliens are hiding nearby and communicating with humans. Or perhaps you are an alien born on Earth, unaware of what you truly are—and the unease you feel comes from being surrounded by humans. Perhaps we are gradually blending together, transforming into something entirely new that is neither human nor alien.

This strange equilibrium occasionally strikes a dissonant note in our everyday lives, making us feel the presence of Bunia Gunia.

Something strange is lurking in our everyday lives.

Acerca de Thirdin

We are based in Japan and creating new fonts. We are surrounded by so many languages and so many letters. In Japan we believe each words have their own soul and power and we call this "KOTODAMA". In daily life, while we are speaking, writing or chatting, we do not think of the design, history, concept or the story of each characters, but they all have meaning in itself. As a creator Thridin's role is to tell people the story of fonts and to value words when we use.
