Sobre la familia

A bold display typeface inspired by brutalist architecture, Nerissimo was built for headlines that demand attention. Its condensed letterforms blend hard angles with rounded strokes, resulting in a distinctly contemporary aesthetic rooted in mid-century modernism and pop culture. Nerissimo's name derives from Italian typography terminology: "nero" refers to bold weights (though it means "black" in everyday Italian), whilst "-issimo" serves as an intensifying suffix equivalent to "the most." The result? Nerissimo literally proclaims itself "the boldest." With 18 styles spanning six weights, Nerissimo provides rich typographic possibilities. Each weight features upright, italic (13°), and super italic (22°) variants—the latter offering pronounced slant for high-energy applications. The heaviest weights pack extraordinary tightness into each character, making them perfect for compressed all-caps settings with minimal line spacing. Look out for the idiosyncratic M, N, S, and W, which give Nerissimo its singular voice. The family ships with 768 glyphs per style, 27 OpenType features, and comprehensive Latin language coverage (220+ languages). Smart typography features include: • Contextual alternates that swap descenders (ą, j) for shorter variants where collisions would occur • A compact 'www' ligature for url-heavy layouts • Intelligent vertical alignment for circular glyphs (@, ©, ®, ℗, circled figures) when positioned near capitals—no manual feature activation required
