Sobre la familia

Rasterlume is the glow of an old green-screen terminal, drawn for the way we design now. It's a pixel display face for posters, album covers, game screens, tech branding and any headline that needs a little electricity in it.

Every letter carries a soft smear of light off its right edge, a fade of fine vertical hairlines that thin out as they drift away. Set it big and you see the lines. Set it smaller and they melt into a glow. It isn't tied to green. Use it in any color, on any background.

The fun part is the layering. Blur Layer and Strong Blur Layer hold only the glow, and they line up exactly with No Blur. Stack them and set the letter in one color and the glow in another. Purple with a pink glow, white with cyan, phosphor green on deep green. Your call.

It started with a single S I penciled onto a grid of dots. I liked it enough to draw the rest.

Five styles: No Blur, Blur, Strong Blur, Blur Layer and Strong Blur Layer. Each has a real lowercase, Western European accents, currency symbols and full punctuation: 211 glyphs, spaced and kerned.

Acerca de FontFuel

My name is Roger Ridpath. I run FontFuel. I am a professional graphic designer with more than three decades of experience. I love typography and enjoy creating my own type designs. Why call it FontFuel? As a designer, I often see how the right type/font can add energy to a design that makes it communicate much more precisely than the wrong choice. In a sense, the type in a design is the fuel that makes it GO! FontFuel was previously known as PhotoshopIsland.
