Shelf Round

Speaks warmly and kindly

Shelf Round is a tool designed for visual

communication systems that need to feel

clear, consistent and approachable.

Shelf Round is a humanist sans-serif typeface with a soft, friendly character. It was developed from the structure of Shelf, but its rounded terminals and softened details shift the tone towards warmer, more approachable communication. As a result, it keeps the structure and legibility of the original family while introducing a softer and more recognisable character.

Shelf Round was designed for communication that needs to remain clear without feeling cold or anonymous. It can be used in visual identities, branding, product communication, publications and systems where typography needs to build a consistent, friendly tone.

Each style includes more than 1,500 glyphs, including small caps, a full set of numerals, stylistic alternates, an extensive arrow system and OpenType features. Shelf Round supports a broad range of Latin-based languages and was prepared for designers who need a typeface that combines refined drawing quality, legibility and a warmer tone of communication.

Acerca de 21Type

21Type — Szymon Sznajder I specialize in typeface design, lettering, logotypes, and concise, letter- and symbol-based graphic forms. I work as an independent designer in Poznań, Poland. For nearly two decades, I have been designing letterforms for professional visual communication. My work combines drawing by hand, experience in type design, and precise digital refinement of detail, so that the letterforms I design perform consistently across different sizes, media, and contexts of use. I graduated from the University of the Arts in Poznań, where both my BA and MA diploma projects were typeface design projects. Since 2013, I have been associated with the University of the Arts in Poznań through teaching.
